The ASUS Robotics & AI Center is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our world-class research and development team in Taipei. This role involves the development and refinement of mechanical systems that are pivotal for pioneering advancements in AI, robotics, and cyber-physical systems.
The role requires a passionate and proactive individual with a solid foundation in mechanical design and a proven ability to engineer robust solutions for complex systems. Roles & responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components and systems using computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as Creo Parametric, SolidWorks, and CATIA, ensuring high levels of precision and reliability for advanced applications.
Utilize computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools for simulation and analysis, optimizing performance and structural integrity.
Select appropriate materials and manufacturing methods for components, optimizing for strength, weight, and flexibility while considering cost and sustainability.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs with electronic systems and intelligent controls.
Lead rapid prototyping with additive manufacturing (3D printing) to quickly validate designs, facilitating accelerated innovation.
Oversee testing and validation of mechanical systems, including durability and performance assessments under various conditions.
Liaise with vendors and manufacturing partners to ensure components as well as prototyping and manufacturing tooling are produced to specifications, resolving any production challenges.
Manage the product development process from concept to production, including detailed documentation and technical reporting.
Stay informed about the latest trends in mechanical engineering and manufacturing technologies to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in designing parts and assemblies using CAD tools like Creo Parametric, SolidWorks, and CATIA.
Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
Proficiency in CAE tools for design simulation and analysis.
Experience in rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing techniques.
Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) principles and machine tooling/fabrication techniques, including CNC machining and injection molding.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Strong project management skills, with a track record of leading projects from concept through production.
