Type of Job:

Full Time

The ASUS Robotics & AI Center is seeking a skilled PCB Engineer to join our world-class research and development team in Taipei. In this role, you will be integral to the design and development of printed circuit boards that are essential for cutting-edge solutions in the fields of AI, robotics, and cyber-physical systems.

This position demands a highly motivated individual with a robust background in electronic design and a proven track record of delivering effective PCB solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for engineering and a strong commitment to innovating within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing the capabilities of robotics and AI computing.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Design printed circuit boards (PCBs) from concept through to production, utilizing electronic design automation (EDA) tools for schematic capture and layout.

  • Perform component selection and layout of PCBs, considering electrical, mechanical, and thermal constraints.

  • Conduct signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis to ensure optimal performance and reliability of PCB designs.

  • Support the prototype assembly process, including soldering and rework of PCB components.

  • Implement design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testing (DFT) principles to optimize production processes and testing.

  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and electrical engineers to ensure PCB designs meet system requirements.

  • Manage PCB fabrication with external vendors, including specification, sourcing, and quality control.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PCB design, fabrication, and assembly.

  • Document design processes and create technical reports for internal and external stakeholders, thereby facilitating knowledge sharing and continuous improvements to the overall PCB design process.

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest PCB technology trends and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in PCB design and layout, with proficiency in at least one major EDA tool, such as Cadence OrCAD, Cadence Allegro PCB Designer, Altium Designer, and Autodesk EAGLE. Familiarity with designing multi-board PCB systems is a bonus.

  • Solid understanding of signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis, with experience applying these principles to ensure the reliability and performance of electronic designs.

  • Experience with power and clock distribution networks (PDN and CDN) design, ensuring stable and synchronized operation across all components.

  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) principles and experience applying them in PCB design to facilitate efficient manufacturing processes.

  • Experience with RF PCB design, including familiarity with RF components, materials, and layout techniques.

  • Solid understanding of electronic components and circuit theory.

  • Expertise in ensuring electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) compliance to meet regulatory standards and prevent interference in diverse operational environments.

  • Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes and industry standards (e.g., IPC).

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
